Introduction to Hogan Assessments
MGP has found that using a comprehensive personality assessment tool with demonstrable validity enhances the effectiveness of our talent solutions. As the world's premium provider of personality assessments, Hogan Assessments have been used as a comprehensive yet cost effective talent management tool on over 2.5 million working professionals among thousands of organizations across 40 countries.
Hogan Assessment System provides three comprehensive online personality inventories:
The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) is a state-of -the-art measure of normal personality, based on the Five-Factor Model. The HPI is often regarded as the industry standard for measures of normal personality because of its ability to predict employee performance and development needs.
The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) is the first inventory to measure career-derailing tendencies. It assesses eleven patterns of behavior that impede work relationships, hinder productivity or limit overall career potential. The HDS is used for employee development because early detection of these tendencies can be followed by coaching to compensate for them.
The Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) measures motivational constructs based on 80 years of research, and reveals a person's core values. The information provided by the MVPI represents an important ingredient for organizations interested in ensuring that a potential new hire's motivating values are consistent with those of the job and the organization. The MVPI can also help diagnose areas of compatibility and conflict among team members as a foundation for a team building process.
Applications
MGP consultants are well-practiced at integrating the Hogan Inventories into a wide range of organizational development and selection initiatives. Here are just some of the ways MGP can leverage the versatility of Hogan Assessments:
Create an Individual Development Plan that involves modifying behaviors around personality traits and values
Help organizations understand what to expect from a candidate during an interview, and help the interviewer identify places to probe
Help leaders know what to expect from the new employee as they integrate into the organization
Provide coaching clients a better understanding of their style preferences and challenges under stress to make for more effective coaching sessions.
Provide coaches with a sneak preview of what the client will be like, and thus support the coach in his or her approach.
Analyze personality profiles in the context of team-specific challenges and objectives to uncover noteworthy implications and dynamics.
Contribute supportive data to team facilitation and leadership development workshops.
Understand the environment a manager creates for direct reports.
Report Options
There are a variety of report outputs available, ranging in depth and perspective. For example, there are reports designed for quick interpretation, around career development, to help manage a new employee, for coaching, as well as versions that just provide the data. MGP's entire team is qualified to help you understand the results in the Hogan Assessment reports, and we are also licensed to certify you to interpret the inventories on your own!
